Nutrition In Our Food - Is It Enough?

There is a raging debate about the state of our food supply at the moment. Gradually, authorities are discovering that our food supply isn't what it used to be, and most of this has happened for commercial purposes.

You see, in our modern world the objective of the food industry is to make things look attractive and produce them at the cheapest possible price. They add certain nutrients to the food so they can advertise this, when the food should have had them in the first place. This means that "Cocoa Pops" are now advertised as nutritious food. This product has a ridiculous amount of table sugar which everyone knows is detrimental to health in large quantities. Even "Fruit Loops" are now being advertised as nutritious on TV!

Studies on the humble peach show that in 1951 a woman could get her daily supply of Vitamin A from just two peaches. Today it takes 53 peaches to obtain the equivalent available from one peach in 1951! Studies show that organic spinach contains 90 times the iron of the supermarket variety and there are ample studies confirming our fresh food is largely devoid of vitamins and minerals. Recent checks on the supermarket shelves showed Apples 8 months old, special gassing of meat to make it look fresh, and we all know that seafood intake should be limited because of heavy metals such as mercury.

Why Has This Happened?

In essence, it is all for convenience and to cut costs. Competition means that the cheapest, best looking foods will be the ones people buy. In the old days, a field was used for a leaf crop one year, root crop the next and then left to regenerate for a third season. Now we use artificial fertilizers to grow the same crop in the same soil year after year. The result - soil deficient in vital trace elements and minerals. The food industry solution, process the food until it has no nutrition and then add artificial vitamins and call it nutritious!

The wide use of pesticides and herbicides has placed additional strain on our digestive and elimination systems. Simply, our bodies were not designed to deal with these and they tend to accumulate in the body causing degeneration. It is said we take longer to decompose because of accumulated preservatives in our bodies!

Our Nutrition Comes From Plants

The generally accepted way we receive nutrition is that plants soak up vitamins and minerals from the soil and we et the plants. Animals also eat plants to concentrate nutrients and unfortunately toxins as well, and for some of us, we receive good nutrition from animal products as well. Nutrients from ground up rocks or produced in a laboratory simply do not have the complexity for proper digestion. We no longer get enough from our food to thrive.

Why Supplement?

Concentrated vegetable extracts replace missing nutrients. They are convenient and easy to use. By knowing the source of food supplements you eliminate unnecessary toxins and concentrate vital nutrients. This is very convenient. Try the products for a couple of months and monitor how you feel.
